The Get Up Kids - There Are Rules
If you would have asked me last year what I thought the new Get Up Kids album would sound like, I wouldn’t have ever guessed this. That being said, I think this exceeded my expectations ten-fold. Although it’s not what I thought I wanted, it’s actually exactly what I wanted. They set out to make the album they wanted to make and just did it. No label interference, no worry on how it will be perceived. This album is raw music, free of any worry or hesitation. A large majority of you are going to hate this album, and I completely understand that. But with a band that has been around for three decades now as crazy as that sounds, you need to be open to change. I’m not going to post a link to the album, but it’s sadly pretty easy to find.
